Abstract

Abstract: This paper analyzes the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices in coffee crops, a key product for Ecuador's rural economy. Through a holistic approach that includes regulatory review, direct observation, and documentation of the information obtained, the company's main limitations and opportunities for achieving GAP certification were identified, as well as compliance with quality and safety standards. The study demonstrated the benefits of optimal resource management and potential access to international markets, along with challenges related to investment for implementation. The results show how good practices promote the quality and safety of the final product and support environmental sustainability. The study highlights the importance of the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and the well-being of producers and their workforce. This contribution is of great importance to regulatory entities, producers, and customers, aligning with the objectives of food sovereignty and sustainable development.
