Abstract

Abstract: This thesis focuses on the study of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, aimed at improving living conditions on the planet, establishing their connection with the selected ruling and the preferred subject matter. This research conducts a specific analysis of Sustainable Development Goal 16, which protects the right to quality justice, legal certainty, effective judicial protection, the rights of participation, communication and information, and the right to good public administration. This goal is linked to the ruling of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador on the violation of the right to due process within a criminal proceeding for the alleged commission of the crime of fraud, which in turn is linked to Constitutional Law. Therefore, given that constitutional rights have been violated, it is up to the highest body of control, interpretation, and administration of justice, the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, to rule on the violation of the right to due process that occurred in the present case.
