Abstract

Abstract: This study examines child custody in Ecuador, linking it to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3. Through an interdisciplinary approach, it analyzes the skills acquired by law students and their potential to address legal challenges in this area. The research highlights the transformations in Family Law as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the digitalization of processes and increased family tensions. The study evaluates the public policies implemented to guarantee the well-being and health of children, identifying achievements and obstacles in their implementation. Finally, it reflects on Judgment No. 239-17-EP/22, highlighting its impact on the protection of rights and the consolidation of the judicial system in Ecuador. This work provides a theoretical and practical framework that promotes a more equitable justice system focused on the well-being of minors, fostering a socially responsible approach.
