dc.description	Resumen:El presente estudio The use of authentic material through WhatsApp in teaching listening skills in EFL out-of-classroom settings , se enfoca en determinar la influencia del uso de material auténtico proporcionado a través de WhatsApp en el desarrollo de las habilidades auditivas de los alumnos EFL fuera de las aulas de clase. Este estudio se realizó en una institución educativa privada de Conocoto (Quito, Ecuador) con veintisiete estudiantes del segundo año de BGU en el nivel B1 de dominio del inglés. Se utilizó una metodología mixta que incluye datos cualitativos y cuantitativos. Los instrumentos aplicados fueron: un cuestionario sobre la percepción de los estudiantes, un cuestionario sobre las ventajas y desventajas de utilizar contenido auténtico a través de WhatsApp, un cuestionario al profesor y una hoja de observación. Además, se creó un grupo de WhatsApp en el que se realizaron seis actividades de escucha para los estudiantes utilizando algunos videos como material auténtico, simultáneamente con actividades mediante una encuesta. Los resultados revelaron que los estudiantes mejoraron sus habilidades de escucha con ayuda de las actividades realizadas con material auténtico vía WhatsAp.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: The present study, "The Use of Authentic Material through WhatsApp in Teaching Listening Skills in EFL Out-of-Classroom Settings," focuses on determining the influence of the use of authentic material provided through WhatsApp on the development of EFL students' listening skills outside of the classroom. This study was conducted at a private educational institution in Conocoto (Quito, Ecuador) with twenty-seven second-year BGU students at the B1 level of English proficiency. A mixed methodology was used, including qualitative and quantitative data. The instruments applied were: a questionnaire on student perceptions, a questionnaire on the advantages and disadvantages of using authentic content through WhatsApp, a teacher questionnaire, and an observation sheet. In addition, a WhatsApp group was created in which six listening activities were conducted for students using videos as authentic material, simultaneously with survey-based activities. The results revealed that students improved their listening skills with the help of activities conducted with authentic materials via WhatsApp.	es_ES
