Propuesta arquitectónica para la interpretación del patrimonio cultural y natural del pueblo indígena Saraguro

Abstract:The importance of valuing cultural and natural heritage allows us to understand and interpret the legacy passed down over time by our ancestors through customs, traditions, and places, which must be preserved and maintained. The Saraguro community is key in the field of heritage, territory, and community due to its rich cultural legacy, its sustainable relationship with nature, and its social cohesion. They preserve traditions such as their Kichwa language, clothing, and rituals, which strengthen their identity. Their respectful management of the territory, based on ancestral agricultural practices, protects ecosystems and landscapes. Furthermore, their community values, such as ayni and minka, promote solidarity and self-management. This balance between culture, nature, and organization makes them a valuable example for universal heritage. This work is developed through a heritage analysis of the Saraguro Indigenous culture, from the cultural, natural, and cultural perspectives. An architectural proposal is being developed for the implementation of an interpretation center that will allow for the establishment of optimal spaces for the development of centers for analyzing spaces and their cultural environment, that is, how the Saraguro culture complements the natural space, with a priority being the commitment to the conservation and understanding of the Saraguro cultur.
