Abstract

Abstract: Architectural design proposal for a neighborhood library in the city of Loja, using adaptive reuse strategies that prioritize the enhancement and adaptation of a new use to a property that is proposed to be valued under modern heritage parameters. The proposal seeks to adapt the building to a neighborhood-scale library, providing a service that strengthens and promotes cultural, social, and educational development, becoming a dynamic, functional, and useful place for the community, preserving the heritage value and identity of the site, preventing its deterioration, and integrating the past and present with the use of best practices that create a dialogue between the building's history and its new function.
