Abstract

Abstract: Contemporary life attempts to force us to succumb to a frenetic rhythm, by which we pass through more and more places without surrendering to their contemplation and almost constructing our itineraries without giving much importance to the spaces which were once our home. However, there are everyday episodes that we would voluntarily like to erase from our memories. We believe this is the theme of Gabriela Vargas Aguirre's second collection of poems, Lugares que no existen en las guías turísticas. For this reason, it was deemed necessary to carry out this analytical-reflective essay in other words, an argumentative one on the poetry born from the veins of our Ecuadorian people, as it responds to a sharp sense of contemporaneity that manifests itself in paths or spaces expressing the abandonment and vulnerability of its people. Therefore, this essay analyzed Vargas Aguirre's poetics, focusing primarily on the approach to space and the meaning that the subject gives to it. Thus, with the aim of demonstrating how marginal spaces influence with the recognition of the non-place of the poetic voice, images of profound uprootedness are explored throughout the work.
