Los factores asociados al desgaste en cuidadores formales en Cuenca, durante el año 2024

Abstract

Abstract: Given the problem of burnout among formal caregivers in Cuenca, this research aims to determine the factors associated with this issue and the level it reached during 2024. A quantitative methodology was applied to a sample of 32 caregivers, using questionnaires such as the Ad Hoc Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Caregiver Burden Interview, the General Health Questionnaire [GHQ-12] (Goldberg & William, 1988), and the Professional Quality of Life: Compassion Satisfaction and Fatigue Subscales V (ProQOL V). The levels that this impact has caused in the same, according to the results found, have shown that, although the highest levels considered by each of the instruments applied are not reached, the burnout in formal caregivers requires taking into account the feasibility of an intervention that focuses on providing a preventive response to this problem, thus preventing it from growing and helping the general well-being of such caregivers, benefiting the people they care for and the environment in which they live.
