Abstract:This study analyzes the relationship between law students' academic preferences and their perceptions of justice within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16. Through a triangulation of the fact sheet, ruling No. 424-18-EP/23, and the theoretical framework, patterns were identified that highlight the need to strengthen legal training and guarantee equal access to justice. It was evident that students with a greater affinity for Civil Law and Human Rights tend to show a stronger interest in strengthening the transparency and efficiency of the judicial system. During the analysis, certain shortcomings in judicial summons procedures came to light, as well as a weak harmonization between national regulations and international standards in matters of justice. Although the National Development Plan has promoted some relevant initiatives, obstacles persist in the effective implementation of public policies, which compromise the full exercise of the right to effective judicial protection. Given this situation, the need for specialized training for judicial officials was highlighted, as well as for promoting regulatory reforms that correct inconsistencies within the current legal framework. Among the main recommendations are strengthening practical training through legal clinics, incorporating digital tools to optimize judicial processes, and conducting periodic evaluations of the real impact of reforms on access to justice. Ultimately, the conclusion is that legal education should be more closely linked to the promotion of inclusive and transparent institutions, aligned with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 16.
