Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the academic inclinations of Law students regarding Sustainable Development Goals 10 and 16, aimed at reducing inequalities and strengthening institutions. Through the study of ruling No. 2366-18-EP/23 issued by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, it exposes the complexity of access to public information and the right to truth in the Gabela case. The method incorporates doctrinal studies, jurisprudence review, and critical viewpoints about sustainable development. The findings demonstrate the importance of modifying institutional structures to achieve equity, transparency, and social justice, going beyond simple assertions to define structural conditions that promote human development and dismantle cycles of exclusion. The research suggests tactics to strengthen legal institutions, citizen involvement, and the protection of essential rights. It is concluded that legal education must progress toward an interdisciplinary perspective that understands law as an instrument of social change, training professionals capable of actively contributing to building more equitable and inclusive societies in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. This appears to be an academic study abstract that analyzes how law students approach sustainability goals, particularly focusing on reducing inequalities (SDG 10) and promoting peace, justice and strong institutions (SDG 16), using a specific Ecuadorian Constitutional Court case as a framework for understanding access to information and institutional transparency.
