Preferencias académicas de los estudiantes de la Carrera de Derecho y su vinculación con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) a través del estudio de sentencias

Abstract

Abstract: This study analyzes the academic preferences of the graduates of the Law School of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) and its link with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through the study of judicial sentences. The problem addressed lies in the need to understand the factors that influence the inclination of students towards certain legal areas, as well as the relevance of their training in the solution of global problems and in their future professional specialization. The general objective of the research was to identify the elements that influence the choice of specific areas of law by graduates and to determine how their academic preparation contributes to the construction of a more efficient legal system aligned with the principles of justice and equity. For this purpose, a qualitative and exploratory approach methodology was used, based on the analysis of judgments, documentary review and information gathering, which allowed establishing a link between the subjects preferred by students, the SDGs and the impact of law on society. The results obtained show that the preference for certain legal subjects is influenced by personal, social and work-related factors. Likewise, it was determined that the skills acquired in the areas of greatest interest can be applied in the resolution of legal conflicts of global scope. Regarding the analysis of the sentence studied, its relationship with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) was highlighted, highlighting the importance of a transparent and effective judicial system in the fight against corruption.
