Systematization of pedagogical experiences in the EFL teaching training program

Abstract

Abstract: This study, entitled "Systematization of Pedagogical Experiences in the EFL Teacher Training Program," aims to reflect on the practices carried out as an observer and lead teacher during practicums 1 and 2. The practicums took place at a private institution in the city of Ambato. The observation practicums involved 75 students of basic education and one teacher, while the high school observations were conducted with 90 students of Bachillerato General Unificado and one English teacher. The main teacher practicum was carried out at the same institution with 50 elementary school students and 30 students of Bachillerato General Unificado. A qualitative methodology was used. The instruments were observation sheets and narrative forms. The aspects analyzed in all classes were planning, linguistic aspects, learning management, and methodology. The results revealed that the observer practicums allowed the future teacher to gain firsthand knowledge of how teachers conduct their classes. On the other hand, the classes with a main teacher allowed the future professional to delve into the educational reality and acquire experience that will later serve them for their professional future.
