La realidad aumentada (RA) y su aplicación en la Iglesia del Valle

Abstract

Abstract: This work seeks to analyze the impact of augmented reality (AR) applied to the conservation and safeguarding of the architectural heritage of the case study church located in the El Valle parish of Loja, Ecuador, named "San Juan Bautista Church of El Valle." The project's objective is to digitize and implement a prototype using AR so that information about the church and its assets transcends time and is accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world. To this end, the history of the church was compiled from its beginnings and the changes it has undergone, an inventory of the museum's heritage assets and church objects was created, a 3D model of the church was developed, AR was applied to the modeling, and finally, an evaluation of the impact generated on the local population was conducted through surveys. The work concludes with the approval of the prototype's implementation, demonstrating that AR is a valuable tool for the conservation of architectural heritage.
