Abstract

Abstract: The research presented below analyzes the implementation of BIMx as a tool for the presentation of architectural projects at the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL). The following study examines the relationship with design, by the teacher and students, within the Architectural Projects Workshop IV where students designed a multifamily housing (high-rise housing) using ArchiCAD and presented projects using the BIMx tool. The results show that 85% of the students consider that BIMx improved the clarity and understanding of their projects. On the other hand, the teachers commented that the interactive navigation within this tool allows better evaluation of the proposals. This research identifies difficulties and needs for further training of the students who would use it. Finally, the use of this tool in the early stages of design can be beneficial, as it allows students to become familiar with the technology and optimize future academic presentations; its integration in early design phases is recommended to maximize its impact on professional training.
