Systematization of pedagogical experiences in the EFL teaching training program

Abstract

Abstract:This research project, entitled "Systematization of Pedagogical Experiences in the Teacher Training Program for English as a Foreign Language," aimed to reflect on the teaching practices. Using a qualitative methodology, this study was conducted at a private bilingual educational institution in Santo Domingo. In the two stages as an observer and a lead teacher at both: Basic Education and Bachillerato, the systematization was carried out using certain instruments to recollect information, such as: observation schedules, classroom worksheets, notebooks, and seating charts. The results revealed that the observation practices were helpful for the Teacher in many ways, from helping her value the students needs and preferences for future lessons. Throughout the observation, the teacher was also able to reflect on the effectiveness of her strategies, identifying which adjustments are required and which activities promoted higher levels of student engagement.
