Implementación del simulador PhET como herramienta pedagógica para docentes de Ciencias Naturales

Abstract

Abstract: The research focuses on the implementation of the PhET simulator as a pedagogical tool for Natural Sciences teachers at Adolfo Valarezo School, located in the Sucre parish, part of the city of Loja, with the aim of establishing a didactic technological proposal based on the use of this simulator. The methodology considered inductive, analytical, and synthetic methods, as well as the survey technique. Two surveys were used: one assessing knowledge, composed of three dimensions digital competence, understanding of the simulator, and attitude toward the use of PhET and another measuring satisfaction. Questionnaires were applied as instruments to the teachers. Intentional non-probabilistic sampling was also employed, selecting four teachers from the institution, as they are the only ones who teach Natural Sciences. The results showed a limited level of knowledge and application of the PhET simulator among teachers. Therefore, it is concluded that the design of a didactic guide on the use of PhET is relevant and feasible for strengthening teachers pedagogical and technological competencies.
