Abstract

Abstract: This essay, entitled Sacrifice and Pain in María Fernanda Ampuero's Human Sacrifices, analyzes the stories of this Ecuadorian writer, highlighting the structural, symbolic, and physical violence suffered by women and children in Latin America. The work is studied from a critical, literary, and social perspective, revealing how imposed sacrifice and suffering can transform into resistance and the search for a new beginning. The decision to write this essay stems from the fact that reading these stories sparked a deep personal and academic reflection on painful realities that remain prevalent in our society. From an educational perspective, addressing these themes is considered to contribute to the reader's critical and humanistic development. The thesis supporting this research proposes that María Fernanda Ampuero, through raw and sensitive language, transforms pain into a tool for ethical and political denunciation. Human sacrifice has been a constant theme throughout history, present in diverse cultures, religions, and narratives. This work seeks not only to analyze literature but also to generate awareness and empathy.
