Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to analyze the influence of cooperative work, as a didactic strategy, on the learning of first-degree equations with eighth-grade students of General Basic Education at the Julio Ernesto Celi Fiscomisional Educational Unit. The study was developed under a quantitative approach. In the first phase, the students were evaluated through a pretest of 40 questions, with a Likert scale item, with the purpose of identifying their initial level of knowledge (diagnostic questionnaire). An innovative class was held applying cooperative work, aimed at strengthening active participation and interactive learning. Then, a workshop was used to learn about their perception and acceptance of the strategy used. Finally, a posttest was applied, which was evaluated in relation to the pretest in order to compare the results obtained. The analysis of the results demonstrated the level of learning achieved and the academic performance before and after the intervention was verified. It is concluded that cooperative work is an effective influence for the teaching-learning of first-degree equations.
