Estudio de Factibilidad para Casas de interés social en la Provincia de Tungurahua

Abstract

Abstract: The general objective of this research is to determine the feasibility of constructing 20 social housing units to reduce the meet demand for quality, adequate, and safe housing (CAS) in the province of Tungurahua. The study follows a mixed-methods, descriptive, and non-experimental design, with a population of 554,846 and a sample of 350 participants. Initially, the unmet housing demand in the province was estimated at 10,398 housing units for the year 2025. The proposed housing units are designed using durable materials, with guaranteed access to basic services, a functional layout including two or three bedrooms, and adaptable spaces to accommodate family growth. The study evaluates financial feasibility, economic feasibility, and social benefits. It also assesses the environmental viability of the project, identifying impacts that would be temporary and mitigable. The project is considered feasible and socially sustainable, as it meets the three fundamental pillars of social responsibility: financial feasibility, social benefits, and environmental viability.
