Propuesta de optimización del transporte de última milla en la empresa Servientrega, sucursal Zaruma

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this thesis was to design a plan to optimize the last-mile delivery process at the Servientrega Zaruma branch by analyzing routes, delivery times, and transportation-related operating costs. The research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, involving direct observation, interviews, and data collection through participation in delivery routes. During the study, limitations were identified related to empirical route planning, unnecessary detours, variations in fuel consumption, and delivery times. Subsequently, Simpliroute software was applied to compare the current operation with an optimized proposal. The results showed reductions in distance traveled, delivery time, and operating costs, demonstrating that better route planning can increase logistics efficiency and optimize the use of available resources without requiring large financial investments such as vehicles or personnel, even in cities with limited route options like Zaruma.
