dc.descriptionResumen: Esta investigación analiza los factores pedagógicos y sociales que influyen en el proceso de aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera en Ecuador. El objetivo principal es identificar y analizar dichos factores con el fin de comprender su influencia en el rendimiento de los estudiantes. El estudio se llevó a cabo en una institución educativa pública del cantón La Maná, provincia de Cotopaxi, Ecuador. La muestra estuvo conformada por 29 estudiantes de segundo año de bachillerato y 3 docentes de inglés. La indagación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque de métodos mixtos, combinando enfoques cuantitativos y cualitativos. Las encuestas aplicadas a estudiantes y docentes se emplearon como principales instrumentos de recolección de datos, complementadas con entrevistas a estudiantes seleccionados aleatoriamente. El enfoque cuantitativo permitió el tratamiento de datos numéricos obtenidos mediante las encuestas, facilitando su análisis porcentual, mientras que el cualitativo posibilitó la comprensión de percepciones y experiencias. Los resultados evidencian que diversos elementos del entorno educativo y social tienen un impacto significativo en el aprendizaje del inglés. En conclusión, se evidencia que ambos factores contribuyen al proceso educativo como un complemento a la enseñanza en el aula.es_ES
dc.description.abstractAbstract: This research analyzes the pedagogical and social factors that influence the process of learning English as a foreign language in Ecuador. The main objective is to identify and analyze these factors to understand their influence on students performance. The study was conducted in a public educational institution in the canton of La Maná, Cotopaxi province, Ecuador. The sample consisted of 29 second-year high school students and 3 English teachers. The research was developed under a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Surveys applied to students and teachers were used as the main data collection instruments, complemented by interviews with randomly selected students. The quantitative approach allowed the processing of numerical data obtained through surveys, facilitating percentage analysis, while the qualitative approach enabled the understanding of perceptions and experiences. The results show that various elements of the educational and social environment have a significant impact on English learning overall in the study context. In conclusion both factors contribute to the educational process as a complement to classroom instruction.es_ES
