Abstract: Abstract: This research, titled Pedagogical and Social Factors that Influence the Learning Process of English as a Foreign Language in Ecuador, aims to analyze the pedagogical and social factors that influence the English language learning process and determine their impact on high school students. The research was implemented in a rural town of the Canton Cañar at a public educational institution, with a sample of twenty-six second-year high school students and 3 English teachers. A mixed-methods approach was applied. The data collection instruments used in this research included Likert-scale questionnaires administered to students and teachers. The quantitative data obtained were analyzed and presented as frequencies and percentages. Additionally, 10 students were individually interviewed to gain qualitative information and triangulate the data. The results expressed a positive tendency toward pedagogical strategies highlighting feedback and motivating activities, due to their influence on the English learning process. Furthermore, support from family members, combined with a global perspective of the English language, contributes to students engagement. Overall, the effective application of pedagogical practices and a social perspective play a significant role in English language learning.
