| Abstract: | Abstract: This curricular integration project aims to analyze and evaluate the reasoning provided in judgments issued by trial-level judges in Ecuador, using Judgment No. 09281xxxxxxxx issued by the Criminal Guarantees Tribunal regarding the crime of illicit trafficking of controlled substances as a case study. Through an analysis of the reasoning in the selected judicial decision, the study examines compliance with the standards for sufficient and proper reasoning established by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, within the framework of the guarantee set forth in Article 76, numeral 7, letter (l) of the Constitution of the Republic. The results demonstrate that the judgment meets the minimum constitutional requirements for reasoning; however, certain argumentative aspects are identified that could be strengthened, particularly regarding the individualization of the defendants' participation and the analysis of the subjective element of *dolus* (criminal intent) |
