Abstract

This research analyzed the school social climate, from the perception of students and teachers of basic general education of the schools: Military Academy "San Diego" and Mixed Fiscal School "9 de Octubre" of the province of Imbabura, during the period 2011- 2012; The objective of this research was to know the pedagogical management and the social climate of the classroom, as elements of measurement and description of the environment in which the educational process of the seventh year students of basic education is developed. The methods used were the Inductive and Deductive, covering the problem of the general to the specific, where the sample was of 63 students and 2 teachers of seventh year, using as Instruments the School Social Climate Questionnaires (ESC) of students and teachers, Ecuadorian adaptation of the RH Moos CES scales. It was evidenced that in the urban school, there are low results in the subscales of organization, Implication, competitiveness and control; And in the rural institution, average results were observed in the subscales of: tasks, organization, and control
