Description: The main purpose of this study was to research on the linguistic phenomenon of Anglicisms used in Ecuadorian magazines. This study was made in the city of Guayaquil as a thesis project work. In order to carry out this study we used three different kinds of magazines, including Scholarly, Cultural and General Interest magazines. In order to develop this study, all the Anglicism found in the selected magazines were collected. The collected information in this study was analyzed, described and compared, using Qualitative and Quantitative methods. Some techniques were used for this work, such as skimming and scanning, note-taking and also data collection formats, cards and tables were used in order to organize ideas and information. Finally, after analyzing and interpreting all the results obtained, we get to the conclusion that Anglicisms have a great incidence in Ecuadorian magazines, mainly in Scholarly magazines, because of the advanced technology, globalization system and sociolinguistic factors.
