Abstract

Abstract:Nationally, the area of rural education goes through several drawbacks that through the creation of Health Promoting Schools can go sustaining. The "Nahim Isaias Barquet" School comes across the following difficulties: lack of active participation of the community, poor health education of the population coverage and poor knowledge of the environment and conservation. The action project "Program of Health Promoting Schools in Nahim Isaias Barquet School of the city of Quito as Health Promoting School, 2014" aims to improve the quality of life of the educational community through healthy practices. There was used a process of adaptation and standardization of the instrument of participatory diagnosis in the school as a valuable tool for promoting health. There were obtained the following results: an organized and motivated educational community; trained in the areas of health promotion and preventive health, with access to comprehensive health care which identifies and tries to solve problems frequently, and the vision of a better school environments.
