Inventario de las tradiciones, costumbres ancestrales y tradición oral del Cantón Mejía, Provincia de Pichincha

Abstract

The present titled Work: "Inventory of the traditions, ancestral customs and oral tradition of the Canton Mejía, directed to the development of the cultural tourist activity of the zone", begins with the situational diagnosis of Cantón Mejía, located in the province of Pichincha Belonging to the Republic of Ecuador, to later carry out the inventory of the intangible heritage of said canton. The research reinforced with the pertinent field work, which consisted of interviews with officials of the culture and tourism commission of the Municipality of Mejía and inhabitants who are familiar with the cultural ancestry and oral tradition, has allowed the author to feel closely the cultural identity of his population. Finally, the appropriate strategy for a brochure describing the legends and traditions of Canton Mejia was studied and determined. The brochure will graphically rescue and safeguard the intangible heritage of the Canton, encouraging its cultural tourism development, thus fulfilling one of the objectives of this work
