Abstract

In order to optimize the quality of the academic orientation processes and offer an individualized education to the new students of the UTPL, the present bibliographic research was carried out. The main problem was the need for orientation in the first cycle students of the UTPL. The general objective was to carry out an analysis on the importance of a mentoring plan for freshmen of the distance modality of the UTPL, through the revision of bibliographic works developed by UTPL students; And thus, strengthen the academic orientation. The research was carried out at UTPL Milan University Center, with the participation of the thesis director, researcher, and first-year students of the distance modality of the UTPL. The analytical-synthetic method was used, critical and hermeneutical analysis; As well as techniques such as reading, and summary. The overall conclusion was that the mentoring process motivates the mentor to improve their learning levels, giving a significant degree of importance to the mentoring system in the academic development of students.
