| Beschreibung: | This research work explores the use of supplementary material inthe teaching – learningprocess of a foreign language. In that virtue the theme of the present research is “The Use of Supplementary Materials in EFL Classes: A comparative analysis of public and private high schools”.The objective is to determine the type of supporting materials and also compare the use of them in EFL public and private high schools. It had as sample the students of eighth, ninth and, tenth grades from a Public High School and a Private High School located in Loja, Ecuador. The students were between twelve and fifteen years old. It took place from January to February, 2011, and was performed using the Qualitative and Quantitative methods. The techniques applied were reading, note-taking, and surveys. Moreover, the collecting instruments werecharts, data collection and observation formats. The collected data was explored, tabulated, described, compared and then the descriptive analysis was done. According to the comparative data, the public high school used the supplementary material in the English Language teaching process,more frequently than the private high school. |
