Beschreibung: When talking about the learning process, it is important to remember the objectives of an educator when teaching a foreign language. For this, the teacher needs to use not only his knowledge but also extra sources that will improve this teaching process. The topic of this study is the use of supplementary materials in EFL classes: a comparative analysis of public and private high schools. The populations of our study were one 8th, 9th, and 10th grade per school. Both qualitative (observation of 30 classes) and quantitative (questionnaire to one student per class) research were utilized in this study. The results of the study showed that the public school had a less amount of materials for its classes. One reason was that the number of students was very high, which did not allow the teacher to use the materials in the best way. On the other hand, the private school had more supplementary materials used in the classes due to the fact that the number of students is small and it gives more time for the use of these materials
