Abstract

Abstract: The present work refers to the Principles of Constructivism in the Institutional pedagogical proposal of the Private Educational Unit "Hermano Miguel", located in the province of Cotopaxi. The objective of this study is to explain the contribution of constructivism to student learning as the basis of the Institutional Pedagogical Proposal. The research is qualitative and the data collection was done through the documentary review method, which serves to support and analyze pedagogical theory as the core of educational sciences. Additionally, in order to identify the pedagogical principles and their relationship with teaching practice, the content analysis technique was used to relate the pedagogical approaches established by the institution with the principles of constructivism. The findings showed that the construction of learning is based on the restructuring of prior knowledge and its construction is carried out through the student's experience, allowing them to learn from direct experience, which indicates that the people have the ability to build their own learning.
