Abstract:This essay analyzes the transcendence of the female character within a context violent and sexist, and very far from knowing about human rights. Likewise the sacrifice of the working class, represented by the thousands of Jamaican workers, is analyzed considering certain aspects provided by the novel by Luz Argentina Chiriboga. The time where the work revolves is full of ups and downs in terms of social advances and actions policies. For this reason, the essay starts from these imbalances from the perspective of the Afro-Ecuadorian Literature and its shelter for oppressed classes. Then continue to focus on social issues such as interculturality, the rights of women and workers, political conflicts, working conditions, social outbreaks and modern slavery. These aspects that are highlighted in the novel bear witness to the physical, emotional, and subsidiary suffered by the Jamaican working class and other nationalities who, with the force of their work and their transparent intentions to progress knew how to give life to one of the most important works in the country at the beginning of the last century.
