El poder femenino de la protagonista en la obra Entre cóndor y león de Edna Iturralde

Abstract

Abstract: This paperwork analyzes the feminine power that the protagonist, Eugenia de Sandoval y Yupanqui, has in the book Entre cóndor y León , by Edna Iturralde. The book takes place at the beginning of the 16th century, in the old Tahuantinsuyo, during and after the Spanish invasion. The information is presented on the living conditions of women, before and after the colonization, of a social, religious and political nature, in the territory that we now know as Ecuador and Perú. In addition, the life of the protagonist is analyzed in four phases, which are divided based on different aspects that marked a before and after in her life. There is also the issue of miscegenation, its origin and the abrupt way in which it came into our territory. Eugenia's feminine power is compared to that of other women of her time. The author's objective is to give power and a strong voice to a young Mestizo woman, who dreams of uniting her two worlds: The Inca and The Spaniards.
