Abstract

Abstract: The present technical project aims to design strategies to improve the reproductive efficiency of the Agricultural Station UTPL and to implement a protocol of artificial insemination to fixed time (IATF); for which a general diagnosis was made of the herd composed of 10 mixed race cattle of the Holstein Friesian breed, where their reproductive and health status, their age and their body condition were evaluated, with the results obtained, the animals were classified in two working groups with five animals for each group, which were submitted To a fixed-time artificial insemination program called "CIDR", where conception rates, heat indexes at the end of treatment and 25 days post IATF were evaluated and cost per pregnant cow. Records and a calendar of deliveries and heats were created to facilitate and improve reproductive management. The results obtained in conception rates were positive with 60%. 90% of presence of heat on the day of treatment and a 75% of presence of heat 25 days post IATF.
