Abstract

The frequent use of Information and Communication Technologies is having positive results at all educational levels. These digital technologies are changing the concept of literacy and the primordial capacities necessary for students to consider themselves literate in a digital culture. New media, critical, technological, social and cultural skills; come to determine the correct need to be literate in technological means, to the point of demanding a term such as Digital Literacy, grouping the new skills, and focus more on the training needed for 21st century students.

ICTs emerge as engines of a necessary transformation of education. It is essential to provide a meaningful use within an integral pedagogical project that responds to the formative needs of the students. These make the so-called digital literacy indispensable.

The present research aims to establish the possible relationship between the degree from integration of Information and Communication Technologies and the level of Literacy in Media Competence of the high school students from the Francisco Febres Cordero Educational School. Considering the importance of good management of each technological and digital tool in education.
