Abstract

Abstract: The present investigation deals with the theme of the development of metacognitive processes in religious education through a comparative study between the students of the 10th of Basic and 3rd of the Baccalaureate of the Heart of Mary Educational Unit of the City of Cuenca, in order to identify and evaluate the methodological strategies and teaching skills that allow this development by establishing criteria for this. The study was conducted with a sample of 55 students of 10th, 57 students of 3rd and 3 professors of Religion. The research is descriptive using the survey technique using LASSI and CEMEDEPU questionnaires. From the study we can conclude that they are not working properly, from the methodological point of view: significant learning, self-evaluation and metacognition, mainly because there is a lack of knowledge on the part of the teaching staff of their importance and the way they should implement in class.
