The implementation of padlet to improve listening in high schools

Abstract

Abstract: The present study The implementation of Padlet to improve the listening skillin high schools aimsto investigate the effect that this tool has on learners achievement regarding this skill, as well as, their perception towardsthis platform. The participants were students from a public high school in the city of Loja, their age average wasfifteen toseventeen years old. The research was conducted using amixed approach(qualitative and quantitative).Apre-test and a post-test were applied in orderto know theirknowledgebefore and after the integration of Padletduring six classes. In addition, a questionnaire was applied in orderto obtain students perceptions of using this tool in the listening classes. Additionally, an observation sheet was usedwith the purpose of determining students performance and attitude toward the use ofPadlet. The results of this study showed a slight improvement regarding this skill,which reflects a positive influenceconcerning students achievement owing to the different resources,activities, and strategies that were applied. Thus, Padlet is considered asan effective tool to be used during listening lessons.
