Ecuadorian public highschool teacher s perceptions on technological resources used by teachersin their EFL classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: This study, Ecuadorian public high school teacher s perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in EFL classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic, was carried out with the aim of determining teachers' perceptions and the frequency of use of technological resources by teacherstheir English classes. The sample of this study consisted of ten foreign language high school teachers from public schools in different provinces of Ecuador such as Santo Domingo de Los Tsáchilas, Pichincha, Sucumbíos, Guayas, and Orellana. A mixed-method approach was used, that is, qualitative and quantitative, through a survey and an interview carried out by Google Forms. The results obtained were organized in three tables using the Likert scale to analyze the data obtained, which, determined that the teachers' perception towards the use of technological resources in their English classes is positive and feel comfortable using them. As well as the frequency of most of these technological resources is constant in their classes. Finally, they consider that through the use of these resources the interest of studentsis capturedand their methodological strategies of English language teachinghave improved.
