Abstract: | Abstract: The present study entitled Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic which analyzedthe technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms. This research was carried out in three provinces of Ecuador which are El Oro, Azuay, and Morona Santiago.Ten English teachers from public high schools were included in the sample population using a combination of quantitative and qualitative approachmethodology. Additionally, survey and interview techniques were used, and the instrument was a teachers' questionnaire. Consequently, the research found that during the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers utilized a wide variety of technological resources, including virtual platforms, WhatsApp, online dictionaries, web pages, educational apps, and digital games. Likewise, teachers have acquired technological abilities and were technologically competentas a result of their self-education or training courses.On the other hand, teachers didnot believe Twitter is beneficial for EFL instruction because it did not appear to engage students' attention, and didnot facilitate teacher-student interaction. |
Description: | Resumen: El presente estudio titulado Percepciones de los docentes de los colegios públicos ecuatorianos sobre los recursos tecnológicos utilizados por los docentes en sus aulas de EFL durante la pandemia deCOVID-19 analizó losrecursos tecnológicos utilizados por los docentes en sus aulas. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo en tres provincias del Ecuador que son El Oro, Azuay y Morona Santiago. Los participantes fuerondiez profesores de inglés decolegiousando una combinaciónmetodológicade enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo. Además, se utilizaron técnicas de encuesta y entrevista, y el instrumento fue un cuestionario. La investigación encontró que durante la pandemia de COVID-19, se utilizóuna amplia variedad de recursos tecnológicos, incluidas plataformas virtuales,WhatsApp, diccionarios online, páginasweb, aplicaciones educativas y juegos digitales. Asimismo, los docentes han adquirido habilidades tecnológicas y fueron tecnológicamente competentes debido asus cursos de autoeducación o formación. Sin embargo, los maestros no creían que Twitter fuera beneficioso para la enseñanza porque no pareció atraerla atención de los estudiantesy no facilitó la interacción maestro-alumno. |
