Abstract: | Abstract: This research, The use of authentic material via WhatsApp in teaching listening skills in EFL settings outside the classroom , aimed to determine the impact of the use of authentic material delivered via WhatsApp in improving EFL learners' listening skills in settings outside the classroom. In addition to identifying the perceptions and determining the advantages and disadvantages of integrating WhatsApp in improving EFL learners' listening skills in nonclassroom settings. This research was conducted in a fiscal educational unit in the city of Catamayo, Loja province. A mixed quantitative and qualitative method was used with a sample of 16 students, 6 females, and 10 males, in the second year of high school. The instruments used were an observation form, a student perceptions questionnaire, an advantages and disadvantages questionnaire, and an interview with the English teacher. The results of this research showed that the use of authentic material through WhatsApp in teaching listening comprehension had a positive impact. This tool can be very useful when used in the right way, helping students improve their listening skills and confidence. |
