Resumen : Abstract: The purpose of the present study was to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in planning the different stages of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes. This research was conducted in public and private educational institutions in the city of Loja, Ecuador, using a mixed approach that integrates both quantitative and qualitative methods. The sample consisted of fifty EFL teachers. For data collection, the techniques used were surveys and semi-structured interviews. The instruments were a teacher online questionnaire and an interview guide with key questions, which made it possible to obtain the frequency with which teachers integrate AI into their planning and their perceptions regarding its usage. The results revealed that AI is most frequently used in the presentation and practice stages, supporting the creation and adaptation of interactive teaching materials, as well as facilitating time management. However, some difficulties were reported, such as limited training and uncertainty about prompt design. Despite this, teachers demonstrated a highly positive attitude toward AI integration and expressed willingness to recommend its use as a complementary support in EFL lesson planning.
