Abstract:This study focuses on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, which aims to promote peaceful, just, and inclusive societies. The document examines its implementation within the Ecuadorian context through the analysis of public policies, legal frameworks, and the case of Cortez Espinoza v. Ecuador before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. The research employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches, incorporating techniques such as documentary review and case law analysis. The results highlight students preference for Criminal Law and Human Rights, underscoring the need to strengthen practical teaching methodologies that connect legal theory to real-world challenges. The study concludes with an emphasis on adapting legal education to the demands of the 2030 Agenda, recommending stronger partnerships between academia and the public and private sectors to reinforce SDG compliance.
