Análisis del perfil vocacional de estudiantes de bachillerato para carreras de STEAM.

Abstract

Abstract: The present study analyzes the vocational profile of high school students in educational institutions in the cities of Pelileo and Riobamba, in relation to the choice of STEAM careers and the factors that influence this motivation. Due to the decline in interest nationwide in pursuing studies in these fields, despite the growing social demand resulting from the global technological revolution, influencing factors were identified in the following areas: family environment, gender, vocational guidance, and the lack of role models. The identification of these factors was carried out through the application of a survey to students from the participating educational institutions. The data was collected and analyzed using proprietary Google digital tools such as Forms, Sheets, and Looker Studio. The analysis revealed that the factors with the greatest influence are gender gaps and the lack of school and family support. The results obtained will make it possible to design educational strategies that increase students engagement with these career paths.
