Síndrome de Burnout durante la pandemia COVID – 19 en docentes del Sur del Ecuador

Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on determining the presence and degree of burnout syndrome in high school teachers in a Latin American environment. This research focused on determining whether the migration from face-to-face to virtual environments caused by the COVID-19 pandemic affected in any way the levels of burnout or work stress in the participating teachers. The sample consisted of 106 high school teachers from different schools in southern Ecuador. The instrument used was the questionnaire called: "Maslach Burnout Inventory" (MBI), which showed that the Covid-19 pandemic and the changes in the teaching and learning modality have affected the level of occupational stress or "burnout" of the teachers surveyed. Finally, solutions are proposed that seek to counteract the appearance and/or decrease the degree of burnout syndrome among teachers.
