| Abstract: | Abstract: The objective of this research was to analyze, through a documentary study, the scientific evidence regarding the impact of the video game *DragonBox Algebra 12+* on the development of algebraic thinking among seventh-grade students in the upper level of General Basic Education. The study employed a qualitative approach and was conducted as a documentary research project. The research technique used was documentary analysis, utilizing tools such as a documentary analysis matrix and a pedagogical contribution record, among others, to examine research published between 2021 and 2025. The documentary review was systematized in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, resulting in the inclusion of 12 studies in the final qualitative synthesis. The results indicate that the video game *DragonBox Algebra 12+* helps students understand how to work with equations and develop algebraic reasoning, while also fostering motivation and improving academic outcomes through strategies such as visual representation, gradual progression, and immediate feedback. In conclusion, the video game *DragonBox Algebra 12+* represents an innovative strategy that can strengthen algebraic thinking, provided that its use is appropriately planned within the teaching and learning process. |
