Abstract: | Abstract: The present research aims to analyze the effect that the use of Book Creator has on students reading and writing skills.This study was carried out in a public high school in the city of Zamora, where theparticipants involved a total of 10 EFL students from the thirdyear of high school, who were given 8 lessons using Book Creator to develop their writing skills.To achieve the purpose of this study, a mixed-method that combineselements of quantitative and qualitativeresearchwas implemented. The information was collected through a pre-test, a post-test, a pre and post interview, an observation sheet,which results were displayed in tables and figures. Findings demonstratedthat the effect that Book Creator has on students reading and writing skillsis positive since it helped students to develop their writing skills by allowingthe participants to have access to a great variety of resources that helped them write about different topics by using different contexts such as poems, stories, cards, and more. |
Description: | Resumen: La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el efecto que tiene el uso de Book Creator en las habilidades de lectura y escritura de los estudiantes. Este estudio se llevó a cabo en un colegio público de la ciudad de Zamora, donde participaron untotal de 10 estudiantes de EFL de tercer año de bachillerato, a quienes se les impartieron 8 lecciones utilizando Book Creator para desarrollar sus habilidades de escritura. Para lograr el propósito de este estudio, se implementó un método mixto que combina elementos de la investigación cuantitativa y cualitativa.La información se recopiló a través de un pre-test, un post-test, una pre y post-entrevista, una ficha de observación, cuyos resultados se plasmaron en tablas y figuras. Los hallazgos demostraronque el efecto que tiene Book Creator en las habilidades de lectura y escritura de los estudiantes es positivo, ya que ayudó a los estudiantes a desarrollar sus habilidades de escritura al permitirles a los participantes tener acceso a una gran variedad derecursos que los ayudaron a escribir sobre diferentes temas usando diferentes contextos como poemas, cuentos, tarjetas y más. |
